Say hello to 2013 Graduate Joseph Castillo. Joseph was definitely one of the easiest to shoot subjects I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Perhaps it had to do with his work on Rampart High’s Yearbook, but he knew exactly the look and feel he wanted to come through in his photos.
Don’t let this image fool you; Joseph has a fantastic smile! I love this photo though because it’s a bit of departure from the typical Senior Photo. It feels a little dark and moody. I can almost picture dark, cloudy skies overhead. He definitely gave some great emotion to the camera, and it was a pleasure to work with him.
Sorry Joseph, I actually don’t have anything smart-assed to say on this particular blog post (I won’t even talk about making you pose next to six tons of bird poop). This image really makes me feel something, as good photos are supposed to, but it makes it hard to be silly.
I’ve always felt photos should be a collaboration between photographer and subject, and you definitely put as much effort into your photos as I did. Wherever your future takes you, we wish you nothing but the best.
